Anita Dunn Returns to Senior Counsel
President Biden announced today that Karine Jean-Pierre has been promoted to White House Press Secretary. Karine will succeed Jen Psakih, who is leaving the White House on May 13, as press secretary.
President Biden's statement: "I am proud to announce that Carine Jean-Pierre will be the next White House press secretary. Not only will it provide us with a sense of purpose, but we will continue to be a pioneer in communicating the efforts of the Biden-Harris administration on behalf of the American people.” Jill and I have known each other for a long time. Karine is known and respected and she will be a strong voice for me and this government.
“Jen Psaki has set the standard to restore decency, respect and decency to the White House briefing room.
The White House would also like to thank Jen for her contribution to her country and wish her well on her future journey. Dunn has announced that he will return as a senior adviser and aide to the president. Dunn will return to the White House staff from communications and policy consulting firm SKDK to help advance the president's policy and communications goals.
